Planning Service Area (PSA) 19 Los Angeles County
Overview
A Planning and Service Area, or PSA, is a specific geographic region designated by the state to help organize and deliver services for older adults. Each PSA is served by an Area Agency on Aging (AAA), which is responsible for supporting older adults, caregivers, and people with disabilities through programs that promote independence, health, and well-being. Aging and Disabilities is Planning Service Area 19 (Los Angeles County). The City of Los Angeles Department of Aging is Planning Service Area 25.
The Area Plan is a roadmap developed by the Area Agency on Aging that outlines how it will serve older adults and caregivers in its region over the next several years. It guides how services are prioritized, funded, and delivered. The plan is created with input from local residents, community partners, and service providers, and it includes:
– A look at the needs of older adults in the community
– Goals and strategies to address those needs
– Programs and services the AAA will offer
– A focus on equity and access for all populations
– Plans for using funding from the Older Americans Act and other sources
The Area Plan ensures that services are responsive, effective, and aligned with the values of the community we serve.
For the FY 2024-2028 Area Plan, PSA 19 and 25 jointly created a plan to encompass services across Los Angeles County.
