LOS ANGELES, CA—The Aging & Disabilities Department’s San Gabriel Valley Service Center (SGVSC) and its community members are being featured in PBS/KCET’s whimsical documentary series ARTBOUND.
Tonight’s episode titled “Artists-in-Residence” (AIR) features Los Angeles County’s Creative Strategist Carol Zou.
Carol’s work at the San Gabriel Valley Service Center, in Sound El Monte, which hosts many local seniors daily, enchanted, and fundamentally transformed the lives of our community. Her “skillshare” cooking sessions not only fostered beautiful intercultural connections between our Spanish- and Chinese-speaking neighbors but also resulted in the creation of a delightful cookbook.
The program was made possible in part by a grant from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts & Culture, The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
You can tune in to watch this heartwarming story tonight Friday, October 27, at 8:00 pm on your local PBS channel or stream online via this link.
