The Los Angeles Alliance for Community Health & Aging (LAACHA), a leading countywide network dedicated to promoting healthy aging and advancing health equity for older adults, has officially transitioned from the Department of Public Health (DPH) to the Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department (AD).  

This move places LAACHA directly within a department whose core mission aligns with the network’s ongoing work. By joining forces with AD, LAACHA is positioned to more effectively serve older adults, individuals living with disabilities, caregivers, families, and the vibrant communities supporting them across Los Angeles County. 

LAACHA brings together more than 300 agencies, organizations, and individuals to build community capacity, share knowledge, and strengthen partnerships. By working closely with AD, LAACHA is poised to better connect community expertise with County resources, programs, and priorities. 

As a community-powered network, LAACHA’s strength lies in its members and partners, who are organizations, advocates, researchers, and older adults themselves. The coalition collaborates to tackle the most pressing issues facing aging communities, such as social isolation, digital inclusion, housing, health equity, racial justice, and caregiver support.

We look forward to working together to make L.A. County a premier region for aging and disability services,” says AD Director Maral Karaccusian. 

LAACHA’s relocation to AD builds on a strong legacy of championing healthy aging and equity. As this new chapter begins, LAACHA remains committed to creating a more connected, inclusive, and equitable future for all older adults and caregivers throughout Los Angeles County.
