Essential Collaboration: Healthy Brain LA Coalition

Brain health is a priority that deserves our attention at every stage of life. Maintaining optimal brain health can significantly lower the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias—a growing concern for many communities.

Whether you are a family caregiver, a healthcare professional, or simply seeking ways to keep your brain healthy, the Healthy Brain LA Coalition offers a wealth of resources to help you reach your goals.

Recognizing the urgent public health challenge posed by Alzheimer’s and dementia, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health launched Healthy Brain LA (HBLA) in 2021. The goal of HBLA is to drive a united, strategic approach to increasing awareness, encouraging dementia risk-reduction behaviors, and enhancing early detection methods across the County.

At the heart of this effort is the Healthy Brain LA Coalition—a diverse and dedicated group of stakeholders that includes community-based organizations, government agencies, health plans, and passionate advocates. Together, they are committed to promoting brain health and improving the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, as well as for their caregivers and families.

One of the coalition’s standout offerings is its Healthy Brain LA Monthly Digest, a valuable resource featuring the latest news, expert-led trainings, community events, and tools designed to empower both individuals and organizations. By subscribing, you can stay informed on the most up-to-date strategies for promoting brain health and addressing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in Los Angeles County.

To explore these resources and sign up for the digest, visit the Healthy Brain LA website.

Let’s work together to protect brain health and support those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
