Commissioner Ochoa Highlights Disability Hiring in TV Interview

LACCOD Commissioner Hector Ochoa recently discussed the work of the Commission and highlighted National Disability Employment Awareness Month during an interview on Spectrum News’ Focus SoCal with host Tanya McRae.

Ochoa noted that job seekers with disabilities often face barriers to employment because hiring managers may make decisions based on what they see, rather than on the skills a candidate can bring to the job.

He called for equality throughout the hiring process so that job seekers with disabilities can pursue the jobs they want, rather than the jobs others think they should have.
