AD Program Wins National Recognition for Bridging the Digital Divide

The Los Angeles County Aging & Disabilities Department’s program, Building a Better Connection for Older Adults (BBCOA), has been selected to receive a 2025 US Aging Aging Achievement Award in the Technology category.

BBCOA provides eligible older adults and individuals with disabilities in East Los Angeles, Antelope Valley, East Rancho Dominguez, and Willowbrook with iPads, internet service, and an 8-week digital skills training course. The program is designed to improve digital access, promote social connection, and support independent living through technology.

The award will be presented at the USAging Annual Conference and Tradeshow, taking place July 20–23, 2025, in Chicago, IL, and the program will be featured in the 2025 AIA Showcase.
