Erwin Petilla

Erwin Petilla is a dedicated professional with a passion for advocating and facilitating services for individuals with disabilities. He currently serves as the District Administrator for the Greater Los Angeles District within the Department of Rehabilitation. His journey in the field began in 2011 when he joined the Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the Van Nuys/Foothill District. Over the years, he has evolved within the organization, assuming roles such as Team Manager and eventually transitioning to District Operations Support Manager in 2015. Throughout his tenure, Erwin has fostered partnerships with community stakeholders to ensure equitable access to services for students with disabilities and justice-involved individuals. His collaborative efforts have led to the development of local partnership agreements with prominent entities such as the Los Angeles Unified School District, American Job Centers (AJCCs), and local Regional Centers. Educationally, Erwin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in School Counseling, with a specialization in behavior intervention and case management, from Cal State, LA. This academic foundation has empowered him to effectively address the diverse needs of individuals under his care. Beyond his professional pursuits, Erwin cherishes spending quality time with his family, embarking on road trips, indulging in cinematic experiences, and nurturing his garden. He is committed to advancing the rights and opportunities of individuals with disabilities in our community, and looks forward to collaborating with the Commission to further this noble cause.
