Older Americans Month 2025

Campaign Overview

Each May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the national observance of Older Americans Month (OAM)—a time to celebrate the contributions of older adults, raise awareness about aging issues, and strengthen our commitment to inclusion and respect for all generations.

This year’s theme, “Flip the Script on Aging,” invites us to challenge outdated stereotypes and embrace a new narrative—one that sees aging as a time of purpose, possibility, and continued growth.

Here in Los Angeles County, the Department of Aging & Disabilities (AD) is proud to spotlight older adults who are redefining what it means to age—through service, innovation, caregiving, leadership, and connection.

Explore this page for stories, events, and tools to help you celebrate Older Americans Month—and join the movement.
