Celebrating Creativity and Wellness: Inaugural Employee Wellness, Arts, & Culture Festival

Aging & Disabilities got talent!

The inaugural Employee Wellness, Arts, & Culture Festival, hosted by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), was a showcase of talent and creativity featuring Aging & Disabilities’ own Robert Cuff from our Internal Support Services Division.

Thanks to the collaboration of the County’s Department of Human Resources (DHR), Department of Arts and Culture, and LACMA, Wednesday, May 8th was dedicated to this extraordinary event, exclusively tailored for County employees. It offered a curated exhibition of artworks crafted by County employees, providing a platform for our talented workforce to shine.

Attendees were treated to self-guided tours of LACMA exhibitions, inviting them to immerse themselves in the diverse narratives of our world, history, and culture through the transformative power of art. The festival was brimming with engaging activities, including sound baths, movement sessions, meditation, and hands-on art-making activities, complemented by a captivating performance by DJ and producer Linafornia.

Among the showcased works was Robert Cuff’s digital photograph titled “Buildings and Light.” Cuff’s piece captures the essence of downtown Los Angeles, where the interplay of natural light and architectural forms creates mesmerizing reflections. Reflecting on his art, Cuff shares, “I’m inspired by the simplicity and beauty found in the play of light across the urban landscape, seeking to unveil the hidden intricacies and layers within seemingly ordinary scenes.”

Cuff’s exploration of light and space serves as a testament to the profound beauty inherent in everyday experiences, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the magic woven into the fabric of our surroundings.

Congratulations to Robert Cuff and all the talented artists whose contributions enriched this vibrant festival!

Initiatives like this not only celebrate the creativity and well-being of County employees but also foster a deeper understanding and connection within our communities. By nurturing the talents and passions of our workforce, we empower ourselves to better serve and uplift the diverse needs of the communities we proudly represent.
