If you’re looking for a way to save on transportation costs, Metro Transit has you covered with its Low-Income Fare is Easy (LIFE) Program. Designed to help low-income residents of Los Angeles County, the LIFE Program offers reduced fares on weekly and monthly transit passes, as well as 20 free rides on Metro or any participating transit agencies.
How It Works:
The LIFE Program gives you two ways to save:
Discounted Passes: You can apply your LIFE discount toward weekly or monthly passes across multiple transit agencies.
Free Rides: New participants can also get 20 free rides on any one of the participating transit agencies.
How to Apply:
Signing up is simple. To qualify, you just need to self-certify that you meet the income requirements. You can apply:
> Online via the LIFE Program website
> By email (lifeinfo@iilosangeles.org) or mail by submitting a completed application
> In-person at Metro Customer Centers or Big Blue Bus transit store drop-off locations
