Los Angeles County’s new “No Wrong Door” initiative is transforming how older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers access critical services by cutting through red tape and confusion.  L.A. County Aging & Disabilities Department (AD) Director Maral Karaccusian and CRS-IL ADRC Program Director Maria Aroch joined CBS LA Mornings on August 7, 2026 to explain how the Aging and Disability Resource Connection (ADRC) network streamlines support across the county. 

“Instead of sending people from one organization to another, our partners work together to help people reach the right services through a coordinated ‘No Wrong Door’ approach,” said Karaccusian.  

Residents can access personalized help with Medi-Cal renewals, insurance paperwork, housing, and more. Six local Independent Living Centers (ILCs) provide in-person guidance, including translation services and assistance for those facing technology or transportation barriers.  

“Even if we don’t speak the language, we use translation technology to help,” noted Aroch. “We make sure clients don’t miss important deadlines or benefits just because of paperwork or language gaps.”
