June 19-23, 2023, was Social Isolation and Loneliness Awareness Week, and the LA County Aging & Disabilities Department is dedicated to shining light on the pervasive issues of social isolation and loneliness, particularly among older and disabled adults.
Social isolation and loneliness can have detrimental effects on mental, emotional, and physical well-being, leading to increase risks of depression, anxiety, and other health challenges. This week serves as a vital opportunity to come together, share stories, and find ways to foster strong connections within our LA County community.
Together, we can build a more connected and supportive LA County for all.
